Biography

Notes on intellectual trajectory (academic life and research interests)

Born in Rio de Janeiro on September 6th, 1971. Son of Evanir (in memoriam) and Argemiro, he is married to Andréia and father of Gabriel and Beatriz and grandfather of Tomás, "his" monads. Romulo is his 'Mano Velho' (“Dear Brother”) and Lívia his dear niece. He likes music, especially Pink Floyd, Beethoven and Legião Urbana; literature, with emphasis on Dostoevsky, Saramago, Fitzgerald and Guimarães Rosa; cinema, particularly SciFi and the essential work of Bergman; painting, in particular Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo and Kandinsky. Plato is "his" favorite philosopher, but he also flirts with Sextus Empiricus, Hume, Kant, Russell, and Feyerabend. In mathematics, he appreciates Archimedes, Hypatia and Emmy Noether. Agnostic, friend of skepticism (philosophical) and anarchist (political and epistemological), Shivam Yoga instructor and admirer of Zen, he enjoys hiking in the mountains and swimming in the sea.
